The main premise of the game is to be given cards adding up to twenty-one. Each competitor is assigned 2 cards. When a black jack player is dealt a nine or lower value card and an Ace they’ve been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace it is known as a hard hand. As soon as the cards have been dealt all players at the blackjack table, which includes the dealer, each player is given the opportunity to make 1 of 6 choices:

Requesting another card (Hit): When a blackjack player announces "hit me" the croupier will deal them another card, if the adding of that card causes the total greater than 21 the player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card pushes the total to 21 the gambler wins and if the value of the hand has not yet reached twenty-one they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you’ve been dealt: If a blackjack player is satisfied with the hand they’ll hold. As soon as this has happened the croupier will display his or her hand and the black jack player who has accumulated 21 or the closet to 21 will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A gambler might ask to double down which doubles the bet they have laid. Once you have taken this procedure you can only receive 1 additional card. The details of doubling down are often specified by the blackjack table or casino game rules so before gambling make certain you’re at ease with the house rules. If you’re competing at a web casino this is normally very easy.

Watch for part two.
