I have wagered on millions of hands of chemin de fer. I started sneaking into the gambling halls when I was still underage. I have gambled on online 21, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short time. With all that said I have still lost all kinds of cash at chemin de fer. The casinos have made it very hard to beat the game.
I still enjoy the game and bet on a regular basis. Over the years I have played a type of blackjack called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won’t get loaded with this method or defeat the casino, still you will have a lot of fun. This method is founded on the idea that vingt-et-un appears to be a game of runs. When you are on fire your on fire, and when you’re not you are NOT!
I bet with basic strategy blackjack. When I don’t win I bet the lowest amount allowed on the next hand. If I do not win again I wager the table minimum on the next hand again etc. As soon as I win I take the payout paid to me and I bet the original bet again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I succeed again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I succeed the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original wager. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I lower the bet back down to the original bet.
I am very strict and never back out. It gets extremely thrilling at times. If you succeed at a few hands in series your bets go up very quick. Before you know it you are betting $100-200/ hand. I have had awesome runs a few times now. I departed a $5 table at the Palms a couple of years back with $750 after 45 minutes using this method! And a few months ago in Macau I left a table with $1200!
You need to understand that you can give up much faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more thrilling. And you will be aghast at the runs you witness betting this way. Here is a chart of what you would bet if you kept winning at a five dollar table.

Take $20 paid-out to you, leave the original twenty dollar wager

Leave twenty dollar paid to you for a total bet of forty dollar
Bet forty dollar
Take 40 dollar paid to you, leave the initial 40 dollar bet
Bet $40
Leave 40 dollar paid to you for a total bet of 80 dollar
Wager eighty dollar
Take $80 paid-out to you, leave the first eighty dollar wager
Bet 80 dollar
Leave 80 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of one hundred and sixty dollar
Bet 160 dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the original $160 bet
If you departed at this point you would be up 315 dollar !!
It is difficult to go on a streak this long, but it often happen. And when it does you must NOT deviate and drop your bet or the end result will not be the same.
